About
ChelseaTherapy.com is the microsite for the gay affirmative psychotherapy specialty area of my clinical practice. I am a licensed psychologist in private practice in the Chelsea/Flatiron area of New York.
Though the language I use in this site is focused on gay men, I work with a wide range of clients of various sexual identities, including straight women and men, lesbians, and those who identify as bisexual, transgendered, questioning, or who choose to forego such labels altogether.
Aside from issues of personal and social identity, I work with a wide range of clinical concerns. Other areas of focus include college student mental health, relationship difficulties, depression, anxiety, recovery from trauma, social isolation, and feelings insecurity, inadequacy, and other negative views of the self.
I work from a psychoanalytically-informed, relational approach to treatment, for which I have engaged in post-graduate training through private clinical supervision. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a clinical supervisor to colleagues and students both privately and through my adjunct faculty appointment to Teachers College, Columbia University.
